Veterinary ICU

Veterinary ICU

At Prestige Animal Hospital, we are proud to offer an Intensive Care Unit for our pet patients. After your pet has been examined and a plan is developed for their care, they may need constant care and monitoring for a period of time. These pets are admitted into our hospital for specialized critical care and monitoring. The amount of time spent in ICU depends upon the severity of the illness and the amount of care required to get them through their particular illness.

Your pet will have the care and support of our veterinary staff and are never alone. Our facility includes a dog hospital and cat hospital to make your pet as comfortable as possible. For pets who come to us with a medical emergency, once they have been stabilized, they will be moved to our ICU for monitoring and continued care as necessary until they are able to return home with you.

Pet ICU Treatments

Our pet ICU consists of state-of-the-art veterinary medical equipment and technology, as well as highly experienced staff members trained to monitor your pet’s medical needs. This allows our pet ICU to offer many specialized treatment options including:

  • Critical care and monitoring by veterinarians and technicians
  • Complete diagnostic lab for immediate test results
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Pulse-Oximetry, blood pressure and continuous ECG monitoring
  • Continuous rate infusion for IV fluids and meds
  • Advanced pain management
  • Nutritional support

After Surgery in ICU

Our ICU is equipped and staffed to aid our pet patients in a safe and pain-free manner. After surgery, patients are admitted into our ICU facility to begin the recovery process. Our veterinarians and technicians will ensure your pet has a gentle recovery and have them back home with you as soon as possible.

While everyone hopes to avoid an emergency situation with their pet, we are here for you during the time when you need us. At Prestige Animal Hospital, we are committed to your pets and providing the highest quality veterinary care.
